Andy wakes up in the morning to discover that he is nine years old again. He takes in his old familiar surroundings and is astonished how young and happy his mother is. When he finally decides to go downstairs to the living room he notices his late father’s chair. Andy realizes his dead father is alive at this time. In trepidation he pretends to act like a child so that he does not scare his mother or father. Andy is terrified about what has happened and cannot come to terms with his new life. In a sequence of strange events he manages to get some answers and is shocked to learn one of the most deeply guarded secrets the world has ever seen. Andy is thrown into a world where he needs to learn to think fast and act fast. And the mysterious apparition of a note unravels the unearthly drama.
I found "The Timekeeper’s Son" a refreshing twist on an old storyline. The main character Andy is superbly depicted and I felt every experience as if it were my own. The story captured me from the first sentence and held my gaze until I had fully read the whole book. It is engaging, the plot is well-developed and the characters are believable. I particularly enjoyed the part with his father, and I liked the thrill of not knowing the truth. The book takes a surprising end, yet it is so poetic. I strongly urge you to read this novel if you enjoy a little science fiction. It will not disappoint.
