Vashti Stopher Klein draws from her own life experiences to present a mesmerizing poetry collection readers are bound to love. The Umbrella Fixer features poems that take you on a personal journey of love and self-discovery, primarily focusing on the ups and downs of relationships. The book opens with the titular poem "The Umbrella Fixer," where the narrator wishes for someone to come and fix the wrongs in their life. "Opera" illustrates our overwhelming desire to connect with someone on a deeper level and be loved. The narrator expresses regret over being in love with the idea of a man rather than the man himself in "Quintessence of You." "Ode to Harley" is a celebration of a parent's love for their child. "Smile, Hope, and Patience" recounts the narrator's battle with grief and self-doubt.

The Umbrella Fixer is a heartfelt poetry collection that touches upon various facets of love and relationships. Rich in themes and emotionally poignant, these poems touch the very core of your soul. Vashti Stopher Klein's captivating verses paint a poetic tapestry of a life full of highs, lows, and everything in between. Each poem focuses on a different phase of the author's life, while staying true to the broader narrative themes. Klein's verses are evocative and powerful, complemented by a distinctive poetic flair that is both fresh and personable. While these poems are inspired by the author's own experiences, the core emotions and feelings they convey are universal and will resonate with a wide range of readers. Klein's poetry is simply beautiful. If you're a poetry lover, I can't recommend this collection highly enough!

The Umbrella Fixer by Vashti Stopher Klein is a collection of original poetry that leans into emotions like grief, healing, and renewal, using rich metaphors and verse. Through poems such as The Umbrella Fixer, Klein shares quiet acts of kindness and repair in a harsh world, where fragile coping mechanisms are often overlooked. The Cabbage White employs the butterfly as a symbol of renewal, with the poet's healing intertwined with the beauty of art. Morning juxtaposes loss with the potential for emotional rebirth, while Alone looks at grief following a loved one's death. CODA details the aftermath of an abusive relationship, while Unfinished Song portrays unhealed emotional wounds. Throughout, Klein's free verse and sensory imagery evoke a deep, introspective examination of love, loss, and resilience.

The Umbrella Fixer: Reflections From Life in the Rain by Vashti Stopher Klein is a beautifully composed poetry collection that I was able to tap right in to. The poems range in length, tone, and tenor, with each one evoking a real sense of feeling and truly thoughtful expression. Klein evokes these feelings with subtle, poignant language. While choosing favorites was not easy, I connected greatest with Ode to Harley, and I Just Miss You. Ode to Harley is a heartfelt portrayal of companionship, showing the quiet, intimate connection between a pet and their person, filled with warmth and tenderness. In contrast, I Just Miss You perfectly captures the complications of longing as it speaks on the loss of a partner. Klein’s attention to detail in all the poems, along with the ability to convey a message that transcends the page, makes this a collection worth reading. Recommended.
