The Voyages Of The Seven (The Star Agency Chronicles Book 2) by R.E. Weber is a children's fantasy story. Theopolis James Logan is one of seven teenagers taken from Earth by the Affinity, a peaceful alien civilization. Whisked away from their home planet and relocated in this strange alien world, the seven kids must learn to trust one another. The seven kids are thrown together and begin training to defend the universe as part of the Star Agency. Theopolis and his friends become members of The Affinity's secret service, an agency that defends the galaxy against their eternal enemy, the Metah Dah. When a secret weapon is stolen, the fragile peace upheld by the Star Agency crumbles. Suddenly Theopolis and his friends are dumped into a battle for survival. But can they survive a universe so different and more dangerous than their own? Or will the darkness overcome them and tear the Affinity apart? Only time will tell...

The Voyages Of The Seven is a beautifully written story that takes the reader into a completely different world. R.E. Weber does a nice job of building these deep and rich worlds, full of imagery and imagination that fill the pages with so many pictures. I could see every scene that was described, every creature that walked into a room, with a clarity that comes from good writing. I was very impressed with this story and think young sci fi fans will enjoy it very much.

Another review of The Voyages Of The Seven on Amazon:

"What if? This exciting story is intriguing and brilliantly written. Seven kids are thrown together and trained to defend the universe as part of the Star Agency. Taken away from their home planet and set down in an alien world, these kids have learnt to live and work with one another. The very human components of the book are interwoven into the basic plot, which is the search for a missing secret weapon. The characters are well thought out and the dynamics of the group within and without keep you riveted.

This book is the second of a series and though I would recommend that the books be read in order, it stands alone very well. The author has provided enough background to pick up what you missed in the first book and to move seamlessly into the second. The kids are older now and the issues that face them have changed. They have much more to deal with now, whilst trying to cope with the problem of how to save the universe.

Being a sci-fi junkie, I couldn't put this book down. As settings changed and plots unfolded I found myself racing through the pages trying to keep up with plot twists and enjoying the thrilling ride through space. I must mention that the background detail of the places that the story takes you to is extremely vivid and very well written. I could picture the action as it happened and very few writers get it right. R.E. Weber has got every aspect of the book just right. I must warn you that once you start this book, you simply won't be able to put it down. Though it is comes under the YA genre, it will be enjoyed by youngsters and adults. Great job!"
