Abigail Morrison develops animals with anthropomorphic abilities as the protagonists of The Yochni's Eye; she includes humans with paranormal abilities and others without supernatural powers. This produces a fascinating utopian world where cunning characters who rely on their intelligence and wisdom can outwit even the most powerful. For example, I wondered how the bounty hunters kidnapped Kraven Monteyeaux and Drake, his dragon, until I realized the hunters capitalized on Kraven's vulnerabilities and desire to do good. The characters are well-developed, and readers will be able to relate to them on some level. The plot is intriguing and steadily paced, and the actions are vividly described, enabling readers to form mental images of actions as they unfold in different scenes. Laced with a fight for power and control, vengeance, and inherent desires to do good, this storyline will intrigue readers who love novels featuring characters with supernatural abilities.
