A Cat's Historical Yarn: The Taming of the Humans, written by Lorraine Abrams and illustrated by Eva Vagreti, is a wonderful story about the bond between humans and cats. They have a long history dating back to ancient times. Cats have been there for mankind since humans first built houses, through their first prey, and even their first bath. Cats helped humans become the finest versions of themselves. However, as time progressed, humans developed a change of heart. As the new ruler took over, they refused to acknowledge the close relationship that had been formed with cats over the years, portraying them as adversaries. After everything they've been through, how will the cats handle this? Will people and cats no longer have the pleasant relationship they once did? Find out in A Cat's Historical Yarn.

Lorraine Abrams' A Cat's Historical Yarn: The Taming of the Humans is a fast-paced, fascinating, and well-written work. I had been looking for a unique and amusing children's book to read to my niece when I stumbled across this one. Eva Vagreti's stunning illustrations were breathtaking, and I couldn't help spending more time on each page because of the art style's charm. The story perfectly portrayed a cat's behavior, and everything made so much sense that I considered the idea of cats taming humans a long time ago. This is also a great book for parents to read to children because it teaches them to be kind to cats and other animals as well. Overall, it was entertaining and interesting, and made me appreciate cats even more. Well done!

Humans never "tamed" cats. According to Spicy the cat, it's a lie perpetuated by the rats. Spicy spins the true story of how cat and human friendship came to be in Lorraine Abrams' A Cat's Historical Yarn. In this rhyming tale, Spicy reveals how humans used to be wanderers until the cats introduced themselves and encouraged humans to form colonies. It was cats who showed humans how to hunt, fish, farm, and groom. They also helped rid the barns of pesky pests. For a long time, the cat and human bond was strong. But the Middle Ages came, and humans lost their minds for a time under Old King Cranky. Eventually, cats regained their rightful place as humanity's guides who blessed modern human civilization with their love and grace.

A Cat's Historical Yarn is an absolutely delightful tale about the cat and human bond throughout history. This captivating narrative also showcases how human civilization came to be and spread all over the world throughout the ages, accompanied by cats, of course. Author Lorraine Abrams tells a heartwarming story using rhyme and humor, celebrating the legacy of cats and their impact on humanity. The book teaches a gentle lesson about loving all of nature's creatures, especially cats. Abrams' storytelling is mesmerizing and is bound to engage young readers and make them curious about cats and their unique lifestyles. Illustrator Eva Vagreti's artwork is simply beautiful and complements Abrams' storytelling perfectly. I also loved the epilogue. It shows how many people who are perhaps not as enamored with cats eventually grow to love them. Children and cat lovers, in general, will have a blast with this book!

Spicy is a cat who feels it is time to set the record straight and has asked Lorraine Abrams to write the history as seen by cats. Throughout history, it was believed that humans tamed cats to be their pets, but Spicy has learned the truth from an elderly cat. She starts at the beginning of human history when humans were struggling to survive. Spicy narrates how the cats felt sorry for the humans and taught them to hunt and fish, and even to clean themselves. Spicy tells how cats were always close to humans and even in charge! But human history was not always kind or fair to these purring balls of fur. In the Middle Ages, cats had to hide because they were vilified. Luckily, times moved on, and things changed. Now, cats are our friends again, and maybe more.

A Cat's Historical Yarn: The Taming of the Humans by Lorraine Abrams is a creatively illustrated children's book written in rhyme. Children will find the story of how cats tamed humans entertaining, and they will laugh at the antics of cats and humans alike. The narrative is an excellent way of keeping the attention of young readers and teaching them about rhythm and the music of language when used as entertainment. This book will delight readers of all ages, from toddlers to octogenarians. They will love how the story is conveyed, as the rhyming language and colorful illustrations by Eva Vagreti complement the story. Cats are a part of our lives, and for some, they are an emotional lifeline in a world that often does not make sense. This entertaining and 'educational' book is a must for any cat who wants its staff to know the truth about history.

Who came first? The cat or the human? Well, ask a cat and you’ll learn the truth. It goes way back in time, because “cats were walking on this earth/ in time to witness human birth./ There’s proof in hieroglyphics found/ in caves above and underground.” Lorraine Abrams’ A Cat’s Historical Yarn shares the history behind cats and their unique bond with humans. History, from Spicy the cat’s perspective, was a bit of a roller coaster ride. There were good times when cats were held in high esteem, and not-so-good times when cats were believed to be wicked and insane. But times changed again, and cats now hold their well-earned position of love and affection shared with humans. It took a lot of patience, diligence, and hard work, but the cats held on firmly and can now reap the benefits of a good life, in a good home, where cats rule the roost.

Lorraine Abrams’ picture book, A Cat’s Historical Yarn: The Taming of the Humans, is a rollicking, lyrical treasure that traces the history of cats. Told in rhyming verse, and from the perspective of one very wily and well-respected cat named Spicy, the plot follows the cat’s rise and fall and rise again in fame, love, and affection for the humans it chooses to rule. The book is divided into categorical chapters that help develop the theme of bonding with humans. The illustrations by Eva Vagreti are bright, bold, and colorful, and add another lyrical twist to this charming story. This is a light-hearted book that will have young readers chuckling as they develop their love for cats.

A Cat’s Historical Yarn: The Taming of the Humans by Lorraine Abrams is a delightfully witty and inventive retelling of human history that is told from a cat’s perspective. The charismatic and clever Spicy is our narrator, who reveals the truth that cats, not humans, were the architects of civilization. With dry humor and whimsical insight, Spicy recounts how cats guided humans from primitive wandering to hygienic, structured societies, only to be unfairly maligned later in history. Through charming commentary and illustrated interludes, this book is both an ode to cats and a gentle satire of human ego, inviting readers to laugh, reflect, and, of course, love their feline companions a little more.

Author Lorraine Abrams' smoothly confident writing draws you in with natural wit, and this makes for an original perspective on history that will delight cat lovers of all ages. This is a read that everyone can appreciate, whether it’s young readers who enjoy the playful idea of cats being industrious and fun-loving, or adults appreciating the sarcastic and satirical jokes that poke fun at human nature and how we’ve treated our feline compatriots (and one another) throughout history. There’s also a real zing of energy in the way that Abrams crafts Spicy’s voice, with a perfectly feline sense of audacity and superiority, and a natural wit that exudes from the dialogue and has you smiling from ear to ear whilst reading. The illustrations by Eva Vagreti also add warmth and humor to this clever historical yarn, making it a multi-layered satirical gem that encourages cross-species empathy and a lot of laughter. Overall, I would certainly recommend A Cat’s Historical Yarn: The Taming of the Humans as a light-hearted read for feline enthusiasts to enjoy getting lost in and utterly charmed by.
