There's a Frog in My Hair by Patty Lennox follows 'The Adventures of a Boy, a Dog, and a Determined Frog.' John and his dog Ruff decide to spend the day at the creek, splashing and having fun in the sun. They didn’t expect to make a new friend, but when they scare a wide-eyed frog from his sleep and he lands on John’s face, they can’t help but have fun together. The frog has taken a liking to John and follows him home. He keeps trying to take the frog back to the creek, day after day, but that little frog just keeps on coming back. What’s a boy to do? The frog is lonely; he just wants a friend, so John and Ruff decide to give him the choice of where he wants to be, and they come to the best compromise any friends could ever make.

There’s a Frog in My Hair by Patty Lennox is a laugh-out-loud picture book with stunning illustrations by Remesh Ram that truly bring this story to life. Patty has created some wonderful, fun characters that kids will love and hopefully relate to. It’s the perfect story to read at any time, and it teaches children a great deal about finding friendship in the unlikeliest of places. It also teaches them the value of being kind to all animals, not just fluffy kittens and cute puppies. Children will fall in love with the very persistent frog who just wants to be loved and stop feeling so lonely, and they’ll want to read it over and again.
