She is dealing not only with her grief but a feeling of being disconnected from her magic. Her whole life changes forever when she returns to school and meets Professor Dom O'Brien. Julia feels an instant connection to him that she cannot explain. Jumping between the past and present, we learn about their destiny together and the danger they face. Someone wants Julia dead and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Can Julia and Dom work together to escape death once more or will fate catch up with them?
Tides of the Sovereign (Book One of The Lost Wells Trilogy) by Kate Gateley is an interesting and well-thought-out fantasy. I do love books about magic, especially when they are more grounded in reality as this book is. The love story between the two main characters is well-written and I liked the way it unfolded. The main plot did hold my interest and I enjoyed reading this book. I wanted to find out what happened next and I would consider reading the next books in the trilogy. Fans of fantasy romance and historical romance would like this book and I recommend it.
