Tookie left her marriage of 20 years to finally live a life that she can be proud of. She left her husband, found love once again, but even that was snatched away from her when he got cancer. However, this is not the end of her misery. The pharmaceutical company she is working for is laying off people and she is one of them. Now she has a choice: be unemployed or work for a secret government agency. She obviously chooses the latter to get a chance at life once again. Now undercover, she is trying to do her job, trying to find a way to survive and make sure that she lives long enough to see the next day. Can she do it?
Tookie Goes Undercover by George Q. Kaplan is an entertaining novel that starts with a bang and keeps the momentum going until the very end. Although this is the third novel in the series, I had no issues with becoming invested in the story and wanting to know more about Tookie. She is a strong woman who only has one motive in life and that is to move forward. I enjoyed how she loved to live and how hard she worked to make it happen. I could see this novel becoming an action movie or a TV series and enjoying great success. Tookie’s character has a lot of potential, especially when you consider the fact that she has many layers to develop even further. I enjoyed the narrative of the novel the most. The author ensured that it was light-hearted enough while making sure that the characters had plenty of time to evolve. The fast pace, the action-packed storyline and the awesome dialogues made this novel perfect for me.
