In Tracking His True Mate by Lynne Stewart, Mariam Hinder is a happily single library assistant who does not wish to be tied down. At 21, members of her Wolf Pack look down on her for not remaining a virgin until the time she meets her True Mate. One night during a dalliance at the Feldman Hotel, Mariam inadvertently meets Trace Everett in the lobby. He immediately identifies her as his True Mate, but Mariam escapes his clutches and goes on the run, much to her own Alpha's chagrin. While Trace does everything to track her down, Mariam finds Tumblewild - a Pack that enables her to work and allows outsiders short stays. Little does she know that Trace is the Alpha of the Tumblewild Pack and he is coming home. Although Trace is angry with her, it is not long before Mariam falls into the role of Luna and is marked by her True Mate. Trust between them builds and Mariam is finally happy and in love... until one of her former lovers from the Dark Claw Pack shows up and kidnaps her, desperate to rescue her from Trace's 'evil' clutches.
Lynne Stewart sure knows how to tell a powerful story. Tracking His True Mate is an exciting and suspenseful page-turner that kept me hooked from beginning to end. It shows that first impressions truly do matter. The rage displayed by the True Mate had Mariam running for her life - as well as the fact that she does not adhere to the 'fictional belief' of true love or True Mates. This is most definitely a love story with more twists than a giant licorice stick, and I eagerly anticipate the release of the second book in The True Mate Shifter Series. Lynne Stewart is a name to watch out for in any bookstore, and I highly recommend Tracking His True Mate to all die-hard fans of werewolf love tales over the age of 15.
