Traveling High and Tripping Hard by Joseph Davida is a personal memoir like no other. Joseph was raised in a small town not far from Manhattan. When he is just eight years of age, he experiences his first prophetic hallucination, which transforms his life and sends him on a quest for the meaning behind the strange messages from eerie beings and angels. Follow his journey from a lost Mayan city to Bangkok to the jungles of Colombia and beyond. Joseph believes his mission is to save the world and his experiences will make you laugh, cry and gasp. His travels and the characters he meets along the way are diverse and extraordinary. Can Joseph actually save the world when at times he cannot even save himself?

Traveling High and Tripping Hard by Joseph Davida is an amazing story of a troubled soul searching for answers, from others and within himself. His brutal honesty throughout this book is commendable. The truthfulness and graphic descriptions of the hallucinations and his anguish at not understanding the meaning behind them were heartbreaking and unnerving. I loved the relationship between him and his father and the last journey he took to keep a promise; this was profound. I did laugh out loud when the author was trying to gain entry into Israel and created a Jewish name. I felt every emotion while reading this book. You are truly taken on a wild journey of discovery of far flung lands and deep emotions. The ending brought peace to Joseph, and that was all I was hoping for.
