“Truly I Tell You Today, You will Be with Me in Paradise” was penned by a writer who chose to remain anonymous for personal reasons. His book is touted as a work of fiction, being his own personal thoughts about what Paradise could be like someday. However, much of what he incorporates into his imagination of a potential Paradise is based on Biblical truths. The author takes considerable care to clarify the distinction between what is his imagination and what is Biblical truth. Not being of the same mind as he is regarding some Biblical interpretation, there were a few items which I felt were not Biblical, but at the same time they weren’t specifically non-Biblical. They simply were his free interpretations about non-critical differences of opinion.
The author has imagined a very attractive Paradise on Earth, following Armageddon. After reading a plethora of dystopian novels, it was refreshing to read about one possible Utopia for a change. During the prophesied 1,000 year reign of Christ on Earth, Satan and his minions are locked away, unable to exert any negative influence on the Armageddon survivors, the resurrected dead, and those born during the 1,000 year reign. In his Paradise everybody happily worked at whatever task was set before them. Money was not used or needed, as everything anyone needed was readily available for the taking. In his version of Paradise people married and bore children; they consumed food and drink, including wine and distilled alcohol in moderation. I believe the author would tell you his own ideas of Paradise are no more “correct” than anybody else’s imagined Paradise. But he has certainly imagined a very nice sounding utopia in which to spend eternity. I would gladly recommend this book as a Utopian Science Fiction story, and I believe most Sci-Fi fans would enjoy it as such.
