In Bound By Love, Faith and Hope, the first volume in Maurius Muze's Two Hearts Within One Soul series, after Queen Gelsomina’s death, King Marici’O rules from Turin under the shadow of grief, moving through palace halls and gardens still shaped by her presence. On the very day Dahli’a marries Marco near Lake Como, he dies suddenly during her ballet performance in Milan, leaving her to retreat into mourning in Venice. When both later survive severe illness separately, each is haunted by the vision of an unknown stranger seen at the edge of death. As Dahli’a returns to the stage in Vienna, and Marici’O continues beneath the weight of the crown, their lives begin moving toward an encounter that seems guided by something beyond chance.

Maurius Muze’s Two Hearts Within One Soul leans into its title through two lives that are intrinsically linked long before King Marici’O and the ballerina Dahli’a ever meet in person. I love Dahli’a and her journey from a Roma childhood in Lyon to the highest levels of the ballet world. Her return to the stage after surviving smallpox shows the strength of her ambition and gives her arc a distinct sense of earned renewal. The settings are wonderful, from Vienna’s theater world to an Austrian mountain, where a home in the forest is complete with a firelit porch, and are so immersive. This is a spiritual, supernatural story linked to the fever visions that bind Marici’O and Dahli’a across timelines, and readers who love good historical paranormal romance and beautiful soulmate fiction will absolutely adore this novel. Very highly recommended.
