Heather and her mother Vicky have experienced a tough life due to Jim – husband and father – having left suddenly years before, providing no support and no contact information. They assumed he was dead. Then one day he arrives at their door. Needless to say, they are angry and shocked. When he says he needs help it would have been easy to refuse, but he insists. He wants to explain his disappearance, but first he needs Heather – who has clairvoyant abilities – to find his daughter! The man has had another family after deserting them; now he has the nerve to seek their help. Heather is torn. She is furious at her father, and incredulous to find he has other children; children he cares for, seemingly, more than for his original family.
The story evolves with Jim managing to explain his sudden appearance. His daughter Rebecca has disappeared and he wants Heather to use her ability to help find her. Sounds like a good place to stop if you are feeling angry about this overview – but stay with it. All is explained and you will be amazed by the conflict and the devious plans that have been used in causing Rebecca’s vanishing act. I won’t say more because it could easily destroy the plot.
Vanished: The Mystical Encounter Series Book 3 by Kimberley Readnour is the latest book in the series and, despite the fact I had not read any of the earlier books, this story proved very enjoyable. Suffice to say, this is an excellent read. It is well-written and holds the reader’s attention from start to finish. Yes, it will likely take you on a roller coaster of emotions, but it will be so worth it. Highly recommended. Great read. I could not put the book down.
