Andy B. Nakagawa has packed an enormous amount of wisdom and encouragement into one small package. Victory Over Sin Through the Word: Six Lessons in Spiritual Warfare is a must-read. Andy’s book is written from the heart, beginning and ending with sincere prayer. He begins the book by explaining the sinful nature of all people and the importance of God’s word to strengthen each person in the battle between ‘good and evil’ — which is God and Satan. Andy briefly outlines some characteristics of both the devil and God, illustrating to the reader how Satan lies and deceives humans, and how God wants only to save us.
The steps given to help us in the battle of overcoming sin are actually simple. That does not mean they are easy. Andy Nakagawa has given the reader six steps to apply while overcoming sin in our lives, including ways to drive off temptations that all humans experience. Interspersed throughout the book are short, reflective scripture passages in which God’s word confirms what Andy is saying. Victory Over Sin Through the Word includes a substantial study guide and, best of all, ends with a prayer for salvation.
This book was a pleasant surprise. It is concise and to the point while being personable and sincere. Whether you are just beginning to investigate God and the Christian religion, or perhaps are a long-time believer, this book will speak to your heart. It is short enough to read over and over. Let the message sink in. This book will make a great gift for you or someone else ... don’t wait!
