Vision of Love by Kathryn R. Biel is a romantic comedy that follows Tabitha Stetson and Henderson Quade. Tabitha, a has-been popstar from the Sassy Cats, seems to think she’s on what is supposed to be a double date with her friend and former bandmate, Angie, and her partner, Sergie, and Sergie’s friend Henderson. However, they are delayed in returning to New York, leaving just Tabitha and Henderson. Henderson, on the other hand, is there because his best friend Grayson wants him to convince Tabitha to star in one of the summer shows at The Edison Theater. Initially, Henderson is uninterested and stiff toward Tabitha, partly due to a pipe bursting in his apartment. Still, after warming up to her and taking her to a pub called Oppa, where she ends up singing karaoke, he’s beginning to see she’s not like the stars he’s dealt with before.

Readers are invited inside a romantic narrative told from dual perspectives to find out if Tabitha and Henderson can get beyond their hangups and actually see something flourish for a change. Kathryn R. Biel is a strong writer and has created a funny narrative, filled with relatable apprehension and imperfect characters. I enjoyed the dual perspectives because they allowed readers to follow both Tabitha and Henderson as they navigated their personal hangups about romance. Tabitha’s motherly perspective resonated with me. She also showed vulnerability, but wasn’t sure if she had more to give in a relationship. Henderson showed hesitance because he thought all actors and singers were the same, and it made him human. Readers who appreciated Kayley Loring’s Very Holiday series would equally like Vision of Love: A Center Stage Love Story, Book 2.
