The collection reveals the author's feelings, beliefs, observations, wishes, questions, and impressions on the people he met, places he went, and political and economic events that took place before and after his child was born, written in real-time as they were unfolding. Viva Lofton also contains beautiful songs, pictures, and details about Lonnie Lazar's troubled youth, about his parents, and the condition of his marriage.
