Wannabe in Wyoming is book one of the Antelope Rock series by two great storytellers, Samantha A. Cole and J. B. Havens, a compelling contemporary romance with unforgettable characters. Willow Crawford is a divorced woman who never knew her father. When her father’s lawyer contacts her to tell her of his death, she also learns that she is the only heir to his ranch in Wyoming. She is excited to start a new life, but she knows little about ranching. When she sends out the letter addressed to Any Soldier from Wannabe Rancher, she is unaware of what she is getting herself into because she quickly catches the attention of Nathan Casey, a man who has suffered a great loss. They engage in phone calls and an exchange of letters, and with them, is a strong attraction. But will it be the same when they finally meet each other in person?

This is a well-crafted and engaging story with characters that are elaborate and genuinely flawed. Both Willow and Nathan must face a painful past; they both have inner wounds they struggle with, and this makes them relatable characters. The story is suspenseful and the authors keep readers guessing as they race through the pages in anticipation of what happens next. The richness in character stands out in this delightful first entry in a series that promises a great adventure for readers; the elegant prose combines with the authors’ ability to bring strong emotions to life to create a reading experience that is unique. Wannabe in Wyoming by Samantha A. Cole and J. B. Havens plunges the reader into the inner worlds of real characters that are easy to love. I can wager that any fan of contemporary romance with a rural setting will devour this book in one sitting.

Willow Crawford finally knows the identity of her father after thirty years of him being missing from her life. Unfortunately, he died of cancer, and she was left a small cattle ranch in Wyoming as his sole heir. Due to getting divorced and losing her mother a few years ago, Willow feels lonely and decides to start afresh in Wyoming. Eventually, she makes some new friends—one of which is the soldier she writes to through Any Soldier: Nathan. Nathan, who doesn't have any relations left, finds himself looking forward to Willow's letters as it helps him get through his lonely deployment. Will pink-haired, tattooed, and pierced Willow end up with the handsome soldier as she raises her adorable alpacas in her new home? Find out in Wannabe in Wyoming: Antelope Rock Book 1 by J.B. Havens and Samantha A. Cole.

This is it! This is what I've been searching for: a model romance that stirs up some desirable emotions. Warning! You should probably read the book in a private place as it is quite erotic. A lot of things impressed me about Wannabe in Wyoming; the characters are well-developed, the letters make the novel feel exotic and sophisticated, and it contains two compelling love stories in one are only a few reasons. It was a double thrill to discover what happened between Willow's parents while reading about her romantic story with the soldier. J.B. Havens and Samantha A. Cole sprinkle their story with several themes that add to its intricacy and appeal: fashion, discrimination, homosexuality, farming, loneliness, stalking, shooting, rodeo, forbidden love, and more. I highly recommend it to all romance fans who don't mind language and sexual scenes.

Starting with a clean slate is not an easy task for anybody. Wannabe in Wyoming by J.B. Havens and Samantha A. Cole features Willow Crawford facing the opportunity to start a new life. Willow has inherited a cattle ranch in Antelope Rock, Wyoming from her father, Jason Hillcrest. She doesn't feel sad about her father's death as she has never met him, and she never spoke of him. Willow chooses to leave Philadelphia to get away from ex-husband Andrew Phelps and start over in a new place. When she arrives, she meets Jeremiah Urban, her neighbor, and quickly builds a friendship with him. While at the store she sees a flyer for Any Soldier. She decides to write a letter and hopes that she could brighten a soldier's day. Staff Sergeant Nathan Casey receives her letter, and the two build a bond as pen pals. As time goes by, Nathan is ending his deployment and Willow invites him to the ranch. Nathan agrees and plans for a week of leave to go to Wyoming. Will they continue their friendship? What will Nathan think about Willow's best friend?

Wannabe In Wyoming addresses social acceptance issues with a romantic flair. Willow is the epitome of what older generations fear; she has a faux hawk with hot pink tips, a tattooed full sleeve on her right arm, and a pierced nose. Cole and Havens developed an amazing backstory that made me want to cry along with Willow. I admired Nathan's sincerity when he comforted Willow in stressful moments. The relationship development was natural without rushing into sex. Wyoming sunsets on a porch swing sound like a great place to be as the description made it easy to envision the scenery. It was easy connecting with Willow as being strong and independent with unfiltered emotions. A favorite moment was when a woman stated that Willow was going to hell for being a divorcee with tattoos and piercings. Willow's response made me laugh out loud. This became a favorite book for me and I recommend it to adults that are open-minded.

This is a love story. It has been a long time since I have read one this good and one that started the way this story did. I love the letters. And I fell in love with the characters especially Willow and Nathan and also Jeremiah.
It was happy and sad, it had a little bit of suspense and a lot of hot sweaty love making. It is emotional and and has definitely some tearful scenes.
I recommend and I love it.

This book was a fantastic start to a new series. I absolutely adore the characters in this book and am so excited about future ones. The storyline was so good it kept me sucked up onto the book thru out the whole book. I could not put this book down at all.

I’m always excited when Ms Cole starts a new series. This time is no exception and the best part is it’s with J. B. Havens, how awesome is that! Their first series together was sooo good I couldn’t wait to read it. I wasn’t sure what to expect but from the first page to the last I was hooked!
Willow and Nathan meet in an unexpected and totally unique way. After moving across the country when she inherits her fathers cattle ranch she knows no one at all. Her neighbour helps her get settled until she starts writing to a lonely soldier.
You could almost say it was love at first letter. As they get to know each other the distance and timing is what makes their interactions so special. Nathan’s life was no picnic and heartache befell him when he was enlisted. Knowing he’s not reupping the letters from Willow are his literal lifeline. The tragic love story of Willow’s parents will break your heart but at the same time renew your faith in love.
I’m so excited for where this series is going. The depth we’ve already seen from this first story, shows that there’s so much more from all these new characters to come from the town of Antelope Rock. The emotional story was both beautiful and heartbreaking and one once you start you won’t want to stop until the very end. Cannot wait for the next book!

I loved the idea of one letter completely out of the blue to a random soldier not just connecting two people but actually changing their lives. Nathan, I felt was struggling, with his career and his life in many ways, when this letter lands in his hand. Willow as well had been at a crossroads of sorts when she got a call from her father's lawyer. She was strong and independent, she spoke her mind and honesty and loyalty meant everything to her. This story has so much, it has a little mystery, new friendship, a very different life and it has tons of romance, there is even a bit of heartache. The characters were so easy to love, the animals, adorable. The writing has you picturing clearly the scenery and buildings. Definitely a story that melted my heart while also firing it up ready for more. I find both these authors are fabulous on their own, so together i know i will get something extra special and I certainly got that with this story. Started 19/5/21 Finished 20/5/21

One of my favorites this year

From the very first page, I was pulled into this story. Samantha Cole and JB Havens have teamed up again to bring us stories from the little town of Antelope, Wyoming.
When Willow finds out she has inherited a ranch from the father she never knew about, she decides to check it out! What follows is a beautifully written story of revelations and love. When she decides to send a letter to "Any Soldier", she has no clue that Nathan will become her future. I absolutely loved all the letters written back and forth which set the whole story up. Along the way, she will discover more about her father as she finds letters that he had written to her mother but never mailed out. OMG, those broke my heart!!! The secondary characters like Jeremiah were awesome and I'll be waiting for his story!!! Reading this story and all the descriptions of everything from the town, to the ranch to the scenery make you feel like you are right there experiencing it all along with them. I loved this so much and am excited for the stories I know are coming

I’m at a loss on how to describe how much I loved this book without giving away spoilers, but I will give it my best shot.
This is the first book in a new series written by two amazing authors. Willow and Nathan easily and smoothly work their way into the readers heart and just gently squeeze the shit out of it. Their slow burn starts with the lost art of writing letters to each other when Willow sees an ad looking for pen pals to “Any Solider”. Nathan and Willow becomes each other’s lifeline in a time of huge transition for both of them and this reader loved every single second of reading this novel.
Seriously people, get the book......it’s amazing.

I cannot wait to meet the characters especially Fred and Ethel!

Wannabe in Wyoming by J.B. Havens and Samantha A. Cole is book one in the new Antelope Rock series.

When Willow Crawford, a strong willed, moves to the beat of her own drum, pink haired woman, receives word that she has inherited her fathers estate in Wyoming, she was finally able to put a name to her biological father. But, having never know the man doesn’t stop her from traveling across the country from Philadelphia, PA to Antelope Rock, WY to find out what exactly her father left her. Will she stay in Wyoming once she’s there, or return home to Philadelphia when she’s done, she has no clue, but sets off on an adventure (and boy is it an adventure).

From leaving Philadelphia to navigating her way through small town life in Antelope Rock, Willow finds herself with a penpal, Nathan, serving in the Army and stationed across the world. But, these letters aren’t just any letters, and soon they turn to more. Willow and Nathan write about everything, from Willow learning how to live on and take care of a ranch, picking out her animals, and what to do when Nathan returns home, feelings start developing and Willow and Nathan cannot stay apart.

But, the story doesn’t end there! Not only does Willow correspond with Nathan through letters, but in sorting through everything in her late fathers home, she discovers letters written to her mother, which unfolds an entirely new world.

Wannabe in Wyoming isn’t just a one dimensional story with a beginning, middle, and end without much else. This story is multidimensional, with strong men and women, raw emotions, (and some hilarious tongue ties/slip ups) realistic life stories, and ultimately, an entire world developing in front of you.

An absolute must read and the makings of a world you will quickly become immersed in and never want to leave.

This book was absolutely phenomenal and it's a must read.
Also posted on goodreads . Best Book I have read in years.

This book is absolutely phenomenal and a must read. Samantha Cole and JB Havens team up for this powerful book about forbidden love and finding out the truth of your past, and learning how to let it go. This book was absolutely fantastic and I will warn you it's an emotional roller coaster ride especially with the letters from her father to her mom. Willow inherited her fathers ranch in Antelope Wyoming but little did she know it would become her own peaceful paradise. She decides to write Letters For Soldier a pen pal for overseas military and Nathan gets her letter which absolutely he needed both of them become friends and somewhere things change between them. Nathan is getting out soon and wants to meet Willow the letters between is his life line and hers as well but how will the feel meeting in person? This book is filled with several tears of pain and several of joy but one thing is this book will teach you a meaningful lesson in soulmates and pure true love.
