Authors Susan Rogers and John Roosen have pooled their very best concoctions of mystery and tension together for another brilliant Yoga Mat mystery. This one is a gripping thriller packed with intrigue, action, and stunning settings, just as I’d hoped it would be. I loved the richness of the characters, both new and returning, and there was plenty of nail-biting suspense as we see Ric put under dramatic and emotional strain when his loved ones are compromised by the investigation. The story unfolds naturally through dialogue and the cinematically described action scenes, and this masterfully written mystery has plenty of heart-pounding twists that feel realistic, thanks to the meticulous detail of the setup. The New Zealand landscape comes to life to add character and flavor of its own, matching the tone of every moment, whether it’s a quiet, clue-laden discovery or a sudden burst of dangerous activity. Overall, Warrior Pose is a highly recommended read that’s perfect for fans of complex family secrets and high-stakes investigations.

In Warrior Pose by Susan Rogers and John Roosen, Ric Peters wanted Elaina to meet his parents and arranged a trip to New Zealand. When Elaina placed her suitcase in the trunk, a human skull tumbled out from a compartment. A chemist, who had been a close friend of Ric’s father, vanished a year ago, and the skull was found at a toxic waste site close to Ric’s family home. Ric’s father was eager to determine if the skull belonged to his missing friend. At the same time, Ric's mother began receiving menacing calls from an unknown person insisting that they needed to stop their investigation into the skull's origin. Ric’s parents' dog unearthed human remains near the barn on their property that might be connected to the skull that was found. Will Ric's father ever discover whether the skull was that of his friend?

Warrior Pose by Susan Rogers and John Roosen was an exhilarating journey filled with murder, peril, danger, and intrigue. The plot was fast-moving, ensuring there was always plenty of action. The writing style was captivating, keeping me glued to the pages as I rapidly turned them. With numerous twists and turns, I was constantly surprised by what happened next. The characters were well developed and felt authentic. When Ric and Elaina arrived in New Zealand, they found themselves at the center of all the excitement and danger. This story was exceptionally crafted and completely captivated me from beginning to end. The conclusion was genuinely outstanding and appropriate, given everything that had transpired. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, which surpassed all my expectations.

Warrior Pose by Susan Rogers and John Roosen is another thrilling installment in the Yoga Mat Mysteries. Ric and Elaina head off to New Zealand, but it isn’t the pleasant trip it should have been. Ric is grappling with a big decision, but accusations of murder and a skull found near his family home muddy the waters. As he struggles with his family relationships, he’s about to be tested to his utmost. A body draws his parents into danger, and when Elaina becomes a target, Ric has no choice but to step up and face his past. Deadly secrets are about to be uncovered, and Ric and Elaina are caught in the crossfire. This is their deadliest adventure yet. Can they survive the fallout?

Warrior Pose by Susan Rogers and John Roosen is a stunning addition to the series, and the third one I have read. And, wow, this is the best one yet! The two main characters continue to be exceptionally well-developed, and with each story, you learn more about who they are. This book is packed with twists and turns that whip around so fast that you could be forgiven for feeling like you have whiplash! The compelling narrative draws you in right from the start and keeps a tight grip as you navigate the beauty of New Zealand and the terrifying secrets the pair stumbles across. Each installment just gets better, and the plots are more involved. This is one series you really should read from the start, and I guarantee that once you read one, you’ll want them all. With plenty of action and a tight plot, this is a fantastic thriller with a little humor and romance to sweeten the deal. Highly recommended for all fans of the mystery and thriller genres.

Warrior Pose by Susan Rogers and John Roosen is the fourth novel in their Yoga Mat Mysteries, offering a standalone, delightful blend of crime mystery, travel adventure, and clean romance. Ric Peters takes his fiancée, Elaina Williams, to New Zealand to meet his parents. On arrival, they meet and greet Ric’s parents and find a human skull resting in the boot of their truck. It transpires that an employee on a hazardous waste clean-up site discovered and took the skull without permission. Ric’s mother, who knew the employee's family, retrieved the skull to return it. But Ric’s father decided to investigate, suspecting that the skull could be that of his old friend who disappeared a year previously. Ric and Elaina find themselves drawn into this perilous adventure. What will they discover?

I enjoyed my reunion with Ric and Elaina in Warrior Pose. I loved exploring New Zealand alongside the couple, especially as I knew that Susan Rogers and John Roosen drew on their professional experience to construct authentic details. The insights into archery, mountaineering, and marine rescue were fascinating! I liked the suspense and Elaina’s “3P” mantra. In addition, how Ric’s relationship with his father developed and what happened to Ric’s grandfather kept me turning the pages. I also liked how the story exposed the dangers of illegal hazardous waste disposal. But of all the positives of this unputdownable story, I will remember the finale at the Buddhist monastery. I highly recommend this page-turner to mystery, crime, and travel adventure fans.

Warrior Pose by Susan Rogers and John Roosen is part of the Yoga Mat Mystery series. Ric is at a point in his life when he has to make decisions, as he finds himself between his dangerous job and building a life with Elaina. Soon, his lifestyle catches up with him during a trip to New Zealand when he and Elaina, along with his family, are pulled into the middle of a dangerous situation. As he struggles with murder accusations from his time in Indonesia, his friends who remain there are seeking his help to avoid apprehension. The mystery deepens as he navigates the complicated relationship he has with his father while investigating a skull that was found too close to home, sorting through a chemical plant’s secrets, and trying to keep his loved ones out of danger.

Susan Rogers and John Roosen do a splendid job of creating tension and upping Ric’s apprehension throughout as he faces a crossroads in his life. The mystery carefully weaves together different elements that have an environmental focus through a toxic waste dump and a chemical plant. His relationship with Elaina is an important aspect of both the story and his journey, as her love and support give his life a sense of peace that he isn’t familiar with. Their relationship has grown since the previous book, with the two finding time to have quiet moments to be together. These moments are necessary in the story as they give Ric a purpose and an identity away from his job, with Elaina giving him a reason to want more. Family is an interesting theme that is explored primarily through his strained relationship with his father, which is described as a ten-year chasm. Amid the investigation and action moments, there are times when the family drama takes the focus in ways that feel organic and realistically explore the dynamic between father and son. Warrior Pose gives you everything that you want from the previous book and more, with action, romance, family drama, and a breathtaking landscape.
