What Is To Come: The Great Reset is a work of fiction in the dystopia and political thriller subgenres. It is suitable for the adult reading audience and was penned by author Oliver Cash. The book follows the protagonist and author after the publication of his book leads to him being targeted by the liberals as revenge for the things he had to say. Recovering from the attack in a liberal state, Oliver watches as the USA is divided cleanly in two and he and his family must learn the acceptable way to think and behave in the new Liberal Regions. But with rehabilitation on offer, Oliver may find himself able to thrive in the new world, albeit at a personal cost.

The political ideas in this book are deeply fascinating and are certainly a controversial interpretation of where current public attitudes could lead if left unchecked. The thought of the political divide in the USA becoming so severe that it leads to the country splitting into two new ones doesn’t feel like such a far-fetched one. Author Oliver Cash deftly brings it to life with excellent prose that ties the dystopian world of the Liberal Regions to modern-day America. The psychological element of the story was particularly powerful as we witness Oliver’s personality and convictions slowly being eroded in the name of survival. On page after page throughout What Is To Come, we see the compromises he is forced to make add up until they reach a stunning crescendo at the conclusion of the story and the distance he has fallen from himself becomes apparent.

What Is To Come: The Great Reset is a politically charged and unique novel by Oliver Cash that explores liberalism in America. The book tells the story of the protagonist, who is also named Oliver Cash, a famous author who wrote and published a controversial book in the face of warnings from liberal society. He fell ill, spending six months in a medical coma, and was ironically nursed back to good health by the same liberals that he despised so much. The Great Succession led to a split between Liberals and Conservatives which affected both him and his family. They had to adapt to the fresh rules and laws of the new America. Oliver Cash soon loses his family as a result of his fame and unwillingness to obey the law.

What Is To Come is interesting and thought-provoking, and I loved the way the author uses real characters to depict what America looks like now. The story is brilliant in merging real events with fiction. The characters are original and each one has unique traits that make them easy to identify. I commend the author's visualization skills as every scene in the book is vividly described. The plot was easy to follow, it doesn't contain explicit content, and the word choice is appropriate. I enjoyed reading this book and will look out for other books by Oliver Cash. Get a copy of What is to Come for yourself right away!
