In Whispers of the Pale Witch by S.A. Sizemore, following the death of her great-aunt, Kylie Beckett returns to her birthplace in Salem, Massachusetts, hundreds of years after the infamous witch trials and horrific executions of 1692. She discovers that the hatred, the urge for revenge, and the mysterious machinations of witchcraft have survived throughout the generational bloodlines. Acceptance of her dream job as a forensic photographer puts her in the middle of a sudden series of murders and the theft of a demonic relic. Dealing with these cases reveals her ancestors' dark history while she bonds with the family she'd never really known. With their help, she learns of powers and their uses she never knew she had or needed. Adding fuel to the fire is the unexpected appearance of the vengeful Pale Witch, set on unleashing a demonic beast on the entire town.

Intertwining actual historical events with a fictional storyline that yields a seamless, entertaining, and wholly plausible read takes a special kind of talent and tons of research. In Whispers of the Pale Witch, S.A. Sizemore demonstrates that research talent in spades. Sizemore produces a masterful piece of historical horror and mystery by utilizing all the building blocks that create great fiction. Coupled with her heritage link and generational trauma (yes, that's a real thing) to the Nathaniel Ingersoll family, who initiated and orchestrated the infamous Salem Witch Trials, this is a true "page-turner." It is hard to put down for any reason. It is the first book in the Beckett Coven trilogy.
