Rory was never a truly bad man, a weak one perhaps and a misguided one, but never really an evil man. All he wanted was to live happily with the girl he loved, but that was denied him. So he ended up on a different path. When that path finally catches up with him, it unknowingly leads him right to where he wants to be most of all, but it’s too late for Rory. For Greer, on the other hand, there just might be enough time. Of course, that’s only if she can manage to separate the good men from the bad ones and keep herself out of trouble long enough to survive what could be her worst mistake yet, trusting the wrong people. You’re Not Safe is all about trying to avoid the dangers of life.
Even in the short time that you know Rory, you start to feel for him. Then you start to really understand what’s happening and what the killers are after. Greer, Mitch, and Ranger Bragg are all characters you won’t soon forget and of course there are the killers, a duo that’s determined to ‘help’ troubled young children who have grown into troubled young adults. Greer just might be next on their list now that they’ve managed to cross off Rory. But how will Ranger Bragg and the Sheriff catch this duo with so little to go on? You’re Not Safe by Mary Burton was definitely an intriguing book and one that I just couldn’t put down. I took it with me everywhere so I could find out what happened next whenever I had a free moment.
