24 Hour Journey by Yvette Wilson Bentley is a short story in which the author shares personal testimonies to drive home the important concept of "trusting God." This short story had all the right elements. I was moved by it. I found myself smiling and rejoicing. We all go through things in life where our faith will be tested. A wise saying goes, "Faith is not faith if it's not tested." The author's faith was surely tested and through the end, God restored unto her. It kind of reminds me of the Book of Job. He went through so much, but he still believed that God would bring him out. As believers we shall experience diverse trials. I knew of someone who lived in an apartment without lights. He continued to say that God would provide. Within a short period of time, God gave him double for his trouble. His faith in God carried him through the heartache and humiliation. His car was even repossessed. He never doubted but held fast to the Word of God. That's what we have to do when our back seems like it's against the wall.

Even though this story is short, it is packed with faith. Readers will find themselves entering a moment where their faith will be renewed. I found myself relating to the same phrases, "God, where are you?" and “Thank you, God, for giving me a means to pay my bills." I can remember the days I said those words too. Speaking those things until they materialized. Now that's faith. Believing the impossible until it becomes possible. God sees our faith and rewards us according to our petitions. His ears are open when we walk and speak in faith. Thank you for reminding me of how awesome God is and how we must allow faith to touch our speech as well. I would recommend this book to everyone who needs to be ignited again.

A powerful story of keeping the faith through the trials. This enlightening short-story is filled with encouragement to keep the faith in Jesus (regardless of the trials) and He will pull us through and restore what we've lost.
