Fox Michaels’s Live Feed follows Miguel Santos, a Miami factory worker whose eight-year-old daughter, Sofia, is awaiting surgery when federal agents raid his workplace. Although Miguel is an American citizen, his stolen identification leaves him unable to prove it during the sweep, and he is transported to Palmetto Detention Facility in the Everglades. There he encounters Carmen Reyes, a California lawyer who came searching for answers about detainees disappearing inside the system. Palmetto operates under Warden Ron Hegstrom, who has turned imprisoned people into entertainment for paying subscribers through violent contests broadcast on a live feed. Beyond the compound, the swamp carries another threat: alligators that have extraordinarily amplified behavior that exceeds their already aggressive predatory nature. In fact, these alligators are anything but natural. Through it all, Miguel has the singular goal of reaching Sofia, while Carmen looks for a way to expose what Palmetto has become.

Fox Michaels’s Live Feed is outstanding dystopian horror fiction, delivered with suspense at every turn. The terror is ferocious, like when a detainee uses a stolen hunter’s tablet to watch an armed pursuer closing in through the swamp, and another triggering a steel snare as enormous alligators barrel down. Miguel is superbly drawn, with prison-trained instincts returning as he studies escape routes inside Palmetto, calculating where armed guards are positioned. Carmen brings fearless determination to the story, which comes through when detention guard Miller corners her inside a storage room and she fights back. Fellow detainee Nadège is fantastic, holding her nerve beside Carmen once the pair discover the alligators can, in a horrifying realization, actually detect traps. The Everglades has a character all its own, whether it's the black swamp water beneath cypress trees or cracked runway asphalt disappearing beneath decades of vegetation. For readers who enjoy savage dystopian horror—it doesn't get better than this. Very highly recommended.

Live Feed by Fox Michaels follows the story of Miguel Santos, a father who is just trying to provide for his family. Instead, he ends up as Detainee 7743 at a secret facility deep in the Florida swamp. His eight-year-old daughter Sofia has a heart disease and is waiting for him to come back home. The warden at the facility runs a dark web streaming site where two million people watch detainees fight for release. However, the release is not an easy escape. The detainees have to fight their way out of a swamp full of engineered alligators. Miguel’s only ally in the facility is Carmen Reyes, a California attorney who saw too much. Together they must outsmart cruel guards and survive the hunt. Can they get out alive? Will Miguel make it home to his daughter in time? Or will it all be too late?

Author Fox Michaels created a fast-paced thriller that had me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely loved how Miguel is a dedicated father and is determined to get home to Sofia. He is a well-rounded character who knows his flaws and how he can work around them to get what he needs. Carmen was a great partner. She is smart, tough, and never gives up. Some of the guards at the facility made me angry just for existing, especially Miller. He was so mean that I loved hating him. The alligators were terrifying, and the swamp felt dangerous on every page. The pace was fast, the characters were relatable, and the thriller theme was followed perfectly. Live Feed is an entertaining survival thriller and is highly recommended!

In Fox Michaels’ Live Feed, Miguel Santos is abducted and taken to the Gator Farm. It is a horrifying facility where human lives have become entertainment. Designated detainee 7743, Miguel finds that the warden broadcasts the captives’ deadly struggle on the dark web. Miguel knows he has forty-five miles of unforgiving Everglades between himself and his daughter, Sofia, who desperately needs him. Miguel’s only chance of making it home is to become the man he has spent fifteen years trying to leave behind. Carmen Reyes, a California attorney with an active bar license, has been investigating the operation and attempting to shut it down. After she is captured, Carmen is forced into an uneasy alliance with Miguel. They must outsmart the warden and his guards and escape through a black-water swamp filled with modified apex predators.

Live Feed by Fox Michaels is fast-moving with plenty of action. The action starts at the beginning and never lets up until the end. Danger was waiting around every corner, and I could not turn the pages fast enough to find out what happened. I just hoped Miguel and Carmen would make it out alive. The writing was engaging and suspenseful. I could not put the book down; I was afraid I would miss something important. The characters were realistic, and all of them had backgrounds that were masterfully woven throughout the plot. I tried to predict what would happen, but was surprised every time. The story was brilliantly written and much more than I expected. I enjoyed the book very much, and the ending was fitting after everything that happened.
