This is a most delightful little Bible study and devotional book. A Bun Dance by Penelope Bourdillon offers words of wisdom for your daily walk with Christ. Penelope intersperses serious Bible study with humor. Each devotional is about a page long, followed by a page of prayers. She uses quotations from sources that always fit the verses in question. I love the cryptic message hidden in the title of the book. It took me a while to figure it out. All I’m going to say is to read the title quickly, then you will understand. This book shares God’s blessings with each of us. It is a book of hope. Penelope realizes that God is in control and will make everything right. This book is not a heavy, theological tome, and it is a welcome breath of fresh air.
As a minister of the Gospel for over 40 years, I am used to reading profound theological works. One of my favorites is Strong’s Systematic Theology. However, I am delighted to share Penelope Bourdillon’s A Bun Dance with you. This little book is full of valuable thoughts on the Bible. Penelope may not be a Bible scholar, but she loves God and His Word, and her excitement in reading the Bible is contagious. Studying what she writes will make one want to know more about what God has to say. Her goal to bring honor and glory to the name of God was achieved and exceeded. The drawings throughout the book are cute and meaningful. They augment the text and help the reader remember the content. I wholeheartedly recommend that you buy this book and put it to good use.
