Who is the girl with the red suitcase? That’s what starts off the story of Aria and Adrian. Well, that and a guy named Rick who isn’t where he’s supposed to be. A Destined Love is a short story about two people who couldn’t be more different, yet find a lot of space for each other in those differences. As the title implies, this is a story about destiny. Both Aria and Adrian are certain they know each other, but do they? That is the question that author Desiree Span wants us to ask ourselves as we join these two on their journey. I’m a sucker for an opposites attract love story and this one has all the elements, including a chance meeting that’s just too cute.
Aria is a free spirit, the kind of girl who hops on a plane to meet a guy she doesn’t really know. Adrian is not that guy at all; he’s more pragmatic, he's a man who makes a plan for every single day. They shouldn’t work, but he’s also endlessly patient, and she is just so likable, so it is as if they’re destined for one another. A Destined Love by Desiree Span is a fun and flirty quick read. The characters have witty banter as they walk through the city, and I found myself smiling as I devoured the story. I’m not usually a reader who engages in fated or destined love, but the author did a good job of proving me wrong.
