Even though she was a princess, Julia had never known the luxuries that came with her title. Her mother, the one person who loved and cared for her the most, died shortly after she was born. Her father left her with the servants and the only life she had ever known was that of servitude. When Lord Richard shows up, all the hope that Julia had been holding on to suddenly comes alive. He is what she had been waiting for; a gentle, loving and charming man who has come to rescue her from all her agony. She runs away with Richard to a faraway land. But is Richard what he claims to be? Then there is Anthony. Will he bear the shame of leaving his betrothed to be with the enchanting Julia? A Fairytale Called Love by Lady Toria chronicles the life of the young princess as she tries to find true love.

This book is a quick and easy read. The story is told with clarity and with short dialogues appearing from time to time. Further, the plot holds together and the main characters, Julia and Anthony, are sufficiently described. Many descriptions are left out and this puts much focus on Julia. This makes the theme and the end even more suspenseful. Even though A Fairytale Called Love follows a typical fairytale plot, there are many distinguishing elements in this account. I particularly liked Catherine’s character and how the story ended. Any fan of fairytales will definitely love Lady Toria’s A Fairytale Called Love. It is a delightful and heart-warming read.
