A Frog Out of Tune is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Rita Mendoza. It follows a frog named Antolin, who lives in the Gri Gri lagoon. Unlike his classmates, who focused during music class, Antolin preferred to play around and tell jokes. While everyone else learned the melody and stayed in tune, Antolin found it boring to sing the same thing repeatedly. On the day of the presentation, the musicians had their instruments ready, the audience of the lagoon neighbors was excited, and everyone was prepared. Unfortunately, Antolin's off-key performance drove all the animals away, resulting in a disastrous concert. When he realized the impact of his actions, Antolin vowed to redeem himself, atone for his mistake, and make his classmates and neighbors proud.

A Frog Out of Tune is a whimsical tale that teaches young readers the importance of teamwork, practice, and the value of listening to others. Through Antolin's journey from disruption to redemption, children learn that while individual expression is important, collaboration and commitment to a shared goal often lead to the most fulfilling and harmonious outcomes. The story shows that while laughing and making jokes can be fun, this should be balanced with respect for others and their efforts. Rita Mendoza brings the story to life with her engaging narration and colorful illustrations. The artwork beautifully captures the lagoon's natural environment, highlighting its lush greenery, blossoming flowers, and blue waters. I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend sharing it with your children to teach them valuable lessons about practice and teamwork.
