A Ghost For A Clue is a work of science fiction penned by author C. L. R. Draeco, and it forms the first novel of the Immortology series. Combining features from the genres of science fiction and the world of ghost stories and the speculative, this fascinating read features a series of interesting characters as they explore the possibility of the afterlife from their high level of technological prowess. Bram Morrison is skeptical at first when his botanist friend Torula suspects a genuine haunting, but as the two delve deeper into the loss of Bram’s workmate and friend, the physics of ghosts becomes a surreal and spiritual journey of discovery for them both.
Author C. L. R. Draeco has crafted an intricate and deeply intriguing conceptual plot which, on its own, takes some thinking about long after the book is put down. This interesting take on the spiritual interweaves with the high tech world of science to clash the two in fascinating ways, giving readers a sometimes chilling and sometimes wholesome look at human spirituality. On the story level, Bram and Torula are well developed in their goals and both begin as confident individuals, so it’s really interesting to see their beliefs questioned as they delve deeper into the mystery they’ve set out on. What results is a well crafted and exciting story with a lot more going on under the surface than you’d first think, and overall it makes A Ghost For A Clue a highly recommended read for sci-fi fans looking for a new and original concept.
