Book Fair Week by Gail O’Bannon follows three enthusiastic boys as they eagerly await attending their school’s book fair. Readers follow along as Alex, Lance, and Lemon anticipate what they will discover and plan what books they will buy at the book fair, considering everything from sports to mysteries, and more. While thinking about what interesting books await them, Alex decides that he will get a book for a family member as well. Their enthusiasm is contagious as they discuss the book fair and share the news with family. One of the boys is invited to have a special role at the book fair. Bright, colorful, and detailed illustrations by Eris Aruman enhance the positive tone of this delightful story.

Apart from the friendship between Alex, Lemon, and Lance, I also enjoyed Alex's family dynamic, especially his relationships with his mom and sister. He goes out of his way to surprise his little sister with a great gift, which will set a very good example for kids on how to treat a sibling or any other loved one. Young readers are going to love this!
