A Growing Faith: Stories from Bed, by Mary Jane Gonzales, rides the waves of emotions and growth that go along with the struggle to live with RSDS (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome)/CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). Not only does it document and outline the different stages and challenges that sufferers of the syndrome endure, but it chronicles the attitude and spiritual growth of one sufferer of the syndrome, the author, as she works through battles that are not only physical and emotional, but spiritual as well. Mary Jane Gonzales demonstrates how her faith grew from resisting God to embracing His grace and love. This was a slow process that took the everyday events of a normal life, which had suddenly become a struggle due to her illness, and transformed them into a miracle of faith. The author walks through significant events which changed her life and brought growth to her faith, with an honest look at the different thoughts and emotions that she had, as well as those of the people around her and how they interacted with her.

Growing Faith: Stories from Bed is an inspiration not only to those who are suffering from RSD, but for all Christians or non-Christians who are looking for an answer to their own spiritual struggles. Through the eyes of Mary Jane Gonzales, those of us who lead our lives wondering how to strengthen our faith can be uplifted and assisted through the simple, yet profound story that she tells. This is a well written book that will penetrate deep into the spirit and emotions of the reader and bring the readers to their knees as they celebrate the victory of God’s grace and love in every circumstance.
