A Lady's Addiction by Angelina Jameson is the love story of Anna, Lady Stafford, and Devlyn Maitlin, second son of a marquis. Their meeting was an accident, but one that would have had to happen eventually as Devlyn was working on figuring out who was blackmailing his sister-in-law, what leverage they had, and how buried in it Anna was. Anna made the mistake of befriending the wrong woman and was unknowingly handed to the blackmailer. When Franco's original plan is ruined, he must come up with different leverage and quickly decides that Anna will pay him to keep silent about who her friend's son's father really is. Anna and Devlyn work together to keep the boy safe and try to keep their hearts safe as they fall in love. Will they be able to work out their differences and get their happily ever after once the boy is safe, or will they part ways knowing they wouldn't fit the mold society is pushing them into? Through it all, Anna is fighting her addiction to alcohol; will she win the battle or will the stress of life send her back to the bottle?

A Lady's Addiction by Angelina Jameson is very realistic. The path that Anna had to travel to get clean from the alcohol and the journey to stay clean is one that I've dealt with personally, thanks to family, and I feel that Angelina Jameson hit it spot on. Anna struggled and had the help needed to get clean and stay clean, and started to view it as a success each time she didn't drink, which is how an alcoholic feels each time the bottle loses. The imagery was very detailed and often put me right there with Anna and Devlyn as their story unfolded. Anna's and Devlyn's emotions and thoughts change in a realistic pattern and if A Lady's Addiction wasn't fiction, I would swear Anna and Devlyn were based on people that I know!
