Thank goodness this book wasn't just one of those books that are created in an attempt to sell something, in this case, liposuction surgery. It was instead a valuable resource for information about liposuction surgery. The size of the book was perfect and covered exactly the right topics that a potential patient would want to know. Dr. Schafer's chapters include a history of liposuction techniques, how liposuction works, determining whether or not you are a good candidate for this type of procedure, choosing the best surgeon, and what to expect in terms of the procedure, recovery, side effects and complications.

I like how Dr. Schafer included photos of before and after images of different parts of the body of patients who had undergone liposuction surgery. Pictures are, after all, worth 1,000 words. He is also very thorough about explaining the differences between liposculpture and liposuction and body contouring as opposed to weight loss. He was even a dear to include information about retail stores and websites that offer bodyshaping garments.

Well-written, easy to understand, thorough, and logically organized, this little book is a good read. More than a pamphlet but less than a tome, it is the perfect size with just the right amount of information that a potential liposuction patient would need. I also appreciated reading Dr. Schafer's bio at the end of the book, demonstrating his extensive expertise, experience, and training in this area.
