Have you ever wondered if people in Florida celebrate Christmas since it tends to stay warmer and has no snow? Do you love dogs? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then A Very Merry Sugar Cookie Christmas by Susan Marie Chapman is the book for you. Cookie and Sugar are two white Pomeranians who live in Florida and love Christmas. This book is full of photographs of Cookie and Sugar posing with Christmas decorations in Miami. The dogs are as cute as can be and they have noticed that at Christmastime people start to be more kind and helpful. As people become more polite, they tend to slow down and watch out for others. Yes, people celebrate Christmas in Florida, and these two dogs are living proof of that.
The only dogs you will think are cuter than Cookie and Sugar are your own. Susan Marie Chapman shares the wonder of the season in A Very Merry Sugar Cookie Christmas. This book is a photo-journal highlighting her two dogs—Cookie and Sugar—as they pose with various Christmas decorations. The text in the book is sparse but explains the photographs. The photos are well-composed and the photographer knew how to make everything look perfect. Sharing this book with your child is a good way to start a discussion concerning kindness and helpfulness. How can your child be kind or helpful? Share ideas with them. Help them understand that the spirit of Christmas needs to be around all year to make this world a better place to live.
