In A Winter Song by DeNeece Butler, the author has taken an age-old subject that has plagued mankind from time immemorial and written a delightful story around it. The subject of longevity and how we can stop aging has been handled in the most enjoyable way. The main characters are John and Grace Lassiter, their daughter Winter, Grandma Lila, Susan, Henry Campbell, David Thorpe, Tommy Lee Higgins, Ellen and Roy, and their son Christopher, and others. DeNeece has given life to characters that are very down-to-earth and human. Each character in their unique way takes the reader by the hand and gently helps them weave through the story of life, death, birth, and new horizons at the end of the tragedy.

The author has placed this story in the most wonderful settings that, if researched, the reader will find them on the map and they are just as beautiful in real life as in the book. These wonderful places help make the story seem very real and something that could happen in the future. A Winter Song by DeNeece Butler is a wonderful, gentle, and exciting read. It holds the reader’s attention from the first chapter, which has a very unusual start, to the very last chapter where happiness is reached. But to understand that happiness, you have to read the whole book and take in all the twists and turns that life can offer, no matter how well-prepared you are. Thank you, DeNeece, for a lovely story. It's a very good read!
