A Work in Progress is a contemporary romance by K. A. Ross. The story focuses on Daniel as he grieves over the death of his once-estranged sister Elise who left behind an unfinished manuscript. Aware that one of Elise's unfulfilled dreams was to publish a book, he leaves his comfort zone and finds Nellie, a freelance editor. He later learns that Nellie also has her own story of overcoming grief and the two start working together. They find comfort in each other's company and a romance blossoms. As they work together and look forward to having Elise's manuscript finished and published, they are surprised when Elise's husband, Edward, appears in Daniel's life. Daniel and Nellie try to find a second chance at love but their pasts seem to come back to haunt them. Will they find the happiness they deserve in life?

The author's literary writing style is vivid and compelling so that one can feel the intense emotions between Daniel and Nellie. The words tug at our heartstrings as we follow the grieving process of both characters. It will be easy for readers to empathize with the main protagonists. I found the plot's pacing smooth and engaging, keeping readers' attention from start to finish. A Work in Progress is a novel that highlights the personal growth and self-discovery of both Daniel and Nellie as they mourn their loved ones. As such, it is also an inspiring read!
