Author Biography

Diane and her husband, Rick, have worked in youth and adult ministries in their church, where she wrote plays and skits as well as Sunday School curriculum and Bible studies. Diane is President of Ozarks Writers League, and a member of the Columbia Chapter of the Missouri Writers Guild. She wrote All That Matters, which is the continuing story of a remarkable woman, at the request of those who had read Pathways of the Heart, which was the beginning of Clella's story of resilience and resourcefulness. Both books are a testament to God's faithfulness to walk beside and deliver His children through difficult times.

All That Matters by Diane Yates is an interesting, gripping memoir that has powerful lessons to inspire readers. In the first book in this series, the reader follows Clella, “Catherine,” a woman abandoned by the man she’s loved all her life. But she finds new love and the story continues from there. While she could have happily settled down and enjoyed her new relationship, she soon discovers that life isn’t what she believed it to be. The frequent travels with her husband and children, the sense of adventure that has infused life into the family, and other experiences that restored hope after her first failed marriage seem to be temporary, because new challenges arise and she has to seek a new form of energy to get her through, with the help of her daughter, Diane. The reader will discover how they find the one thing that matters above everything else and how it transforms their lives.

Diane Yates knows how to touch the hearts of readers with her memoir, which explores the life of an inspiring woman. This is a story rooted in the Christian faith and the author succeeds in conveying the message that readers can beat any obstacle if they remain anchored in the one love that surpasses all else. I enjoyed the biblical references that appear at the beginning of each chapter and there were moments where I had to stop to ponder on them. All That Matters is well-crafted and readers will love the questions it raises and the answers it provides. This is a purpose-driven memoir centered on the lives of people who found a purpose for their lives. It was both entertaining and motivating for me, with lessons that will turn any life around and help readers redefine their sense of happiness. A must-read!
