Readers looking for a thrilling fantasy adventure need look no further than D. Maria Trimble’s Amane of Teravinea. Amane has always been fascinated by the songs and stories of old that depicted the quests of dragon riders of the past. Hearing of their adventures makes her long for her own adventure and to soar the skies on the back of her own majestic dragon. But the time of the dragon has long passed, none have been seen for years, and the corrupt King Galtero has gone so far as to try to rewrite history, banishing the memory of dragons into the realm of myths. All of this changes when she finds her own dragon, Eshshah, who is a descendant from a long line of dragons sworn to protect the true royal bloodline. Amane soon learns the path of a Chosen One is full of danger, but with her new-found companion she will face her coming adventures with steady resolve. Pick up a copy of Amane of Teravinea and soar along with Amane and Eshshah as they take their first steps toward pulling the kingdom of Teravinea from the depths of corruption.
Amane is a heroine that a reader can get behind and root for. She is strong, brave, and loyal, definitely a role model for young adult readers. The concept of the dragon and dragon rider bond adds a unique element to the story that makes this an adventure unlike others I have read. Amane of Teravinea was a wonderfully enjoyable book that made me run a full gamut of emotions, from thrills to chills to laughter and love. The only disappointment I have after reading D. Maria Trimble’s wonderful story is that I must wait to hear more of Amane’s adventures. I expect an exciting epic to be awaiting this heroine, and I can’t wait to learn what it entails. I highly recommend Amane of Teravinea for any reader looking for their next adventure, and I will be waiting with bated breath to continue the journey.
