Anna of Arimathea by Susanne Blumer gives readers a unique perspective on what it might have been like to follow Jesus Christ and to walk in the footsteps of the Messiah during the time of His ministry. Anna is a gifted healer with a big heart and a troubled past. Having suffered tragedy as a young girl, she's spent much of her life hidden away with a mentor on her father’s country estate. Anna knows that she's loved, but upon entering womanhood, she begins to wonder what her future might look like. When a handsome stranger arrives with a mysterious message, questions arise, and her quest for answers leads her to make a difficult choice. Longing to find love and secretly hoping for the chance to be healed, she is hesitant to believe when the opportunity for both arises unexpectedly. Torn between love and duty, she feels as if her future is slipping out of her control. Will she be able to make the right choice, or has she already ruined any hope of a happy ending? Secrets arise, and danger looms in this emotional journey.

Anna of Arimathea by Susanne Blumer is a delightful read and sure to be a hit with fans of the genre. This touching story is well written and had me curious to know what would happen next. Anna’s personal struggles are relatable, and her kind nature makes her an enjoyable character. While her relationship with Andrew plays a large role in the story, it’s her relationship with God that really makes this book stand out. Anna wants to believe the stories she's been taught since birth, longing to believe in the One that they call Messiah, but she fears rejection, and doubts often cloud her mind. Uncertain of her future, she clings to the hope that she’s not beyond God’s notice. Her struggles with her faith add a layer of vulnerability to her character that I appreciated. Likewise, the answers she finds are sure to resonate with readers of all ages. This wonderful story tackles some difficult topics with grace and compassion, weaving a beautiful tale of healing and hope.
