Another Chance: Peter’s Story by Rita M. Boehm is an emotional and suspenseful read about love, healing, and figuring out how to move forward when life knocks you down. Peter Campbell has been through more than anyone should have to deal with, and he’s still carrying both the physical and emotional scars of a terrorist attack that changed everything for him. He escapes to the Irish countryside to seek some peace and hopes to shut the world out. Things don’t go the way he planned when he meets a woman and her young son who are both dealing with their own pain. Suddenly being alone doesn’t seem so simple anymore, and, as Peter slowly lets his guard down, his past catches up with him, bringing danger to the people he’s starting to care about as well as himself. Now, he has to decide if he’s willing to take a chance on love or if it’s safer to stay shut off. This final book in the Second Chances trilogy is about finding hope again, even when the past refuses to let go.

Rita M. Boehm makes Peter’s journey feel real. His emotions come through in a way that makes you feel every step with him—the grief, the guilt, and the small moments of hope that start creeping in. The Irish countryside setting adds so much to the story. It’s peaceful and beautiful, but there’s also a loneliness that fits what Peter is going through. The romance happens naturally, and it’s more about trust and healing than just attraction. This mix of emotion and suspense keeps things moving so you keep turning the pages. One of my favorite things is how it deals with forgiveness: not just in forgiving others but in learning how to forgive yourself. The side characters also feel important, adding to Peter’s story and developing their realistic subplots. If you like stories about second chances, emotional healing, and a bit of danger, this book is worth reading. Overall, Another Chance: Peter’s Story is a heartfelt and satisfying ending to the trilogy, and I definitely recommend it.
