Author Biography

I'm an avid reader. Fantasy and science fiction are my genres of choice, but I'll read just about anything if I enjoy the author's style. Many of my favorite authors are, of course, fantasy and sci-fi authors and they greatly influenced my writing style. Authors like Richard A. Knaak, Margaret Weis, and Tracy Hickman, among others.

I love music. Rock, metal, and classical to be specific. I grew up on bands like KISS, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Doro Pesch, Manowar, and so on and so forth. I spend a great deal of my time listening to music.

I enjoy video games a great deal, like many of my generation. Also, photography is a hobby of mine.

Hundreds of years ago, the planet Relkus teemed with life and civilization. Then, in a cataclysmic event that no one really comprehends, most of the population succumb. Centuries later, there are mainly two populations: those who have taken refuge below ground and those who live above ground. Each group has changed physically and mentally, with some now endowed with supernatural powers. Erika Croix is one such individual. Born and raised underground, she is now a member of the Guard, an elite group of warriors who do their best to protect the underground dwellers from those who live on the surface and the terrifying creatures freely roaming the empty cities and the countryside. Then one day she returns with a prisoner and finds her partner and fellow guard member, Taryn, is several days late in returning from the surface. With the help of Rob, a tracker, Erika goes in search of Taryn. Will they find her alive and what else will they discover on the lawless, wild surface?

Autumn Sunset by Rickk Berry III is a dystopian adventure story set on another world. Autumn Sunset is a straightforward, well-written story. It has many of the features of a typical dystopian adventure with not only likable and believable characters despite their superhuman abilities but also the eerie mystery of a seemingly deserted landscape. Danger awaits readers around every corner while the characters continue to appreciate some of the basic comforts of society and culture that none of them is old enough to remember. Yet, they are dedicated to maintaining the remnants of that almost forgotten civilization. Readers of dystopian fiction will love this book. A compelling story.
