Awakening The Nightmares by Amy Louise Hill is a collection of two eerie stories, each divided into two parts. The first one revolves around a dark creature that observes from the woods. Will you find out who (or what) it is before is too late? And if you manage to do so, is anyone going to believe you? The second one centers on a boy who is always whispering under his breath. What is it about the box he has with him at all times? What is inside it? The quest to find the answer might take over you.
Having always been skeptical, I was not afraid of embarking on the adventure of reading Awakening The Nightmares by Amy Louise Hill. I have always been proud to admit I have never been afraid of such things such as nightmares or ghosts. However, this collection has managed to have me on the edge of my seat the whole time. This book has been written in a light and beautiful way, which gives each story an incredibly fast pace. This helps to create a frightening effect on the reader. The use of the first-person point of view enables a slow unraveling of the mystery behind each story. Both stories end with a spine-chilling sentence that leaves you wondering. If you like horror books, not only will you enjoy this book, but it will not take much of your time. Then, of course, you have to be brave enough to dare to give it a try.
