Everyone knows the magic tree house books; a beloved favorite of all kids to read. Much like those beloved tales of magic and quests is a new kind of story - Banna and Bree Blown to Rwanda by Karen Cross. Follow along as the two baboons, Banna and Bree, go on a journey to meet new friends and travel to different places. Going to a new place, these two young baboons meet an entire forest full of friends. Unfortunately, the reason that they meet them all at once is not a good one. The mountain gorillas are becoming extinct and poachers are invading the forest to hunt them. Now all the animals in the forest must band together to stop the evil poachers and keep them from hurting any other animals, especially the mountain gorillas that work to protect the rest of the forest. Will they be able to stop the poachers in time or will they be too late to save one of their friends? Read this delightful book to find out.
Reading this book brought out the kid in me and made me want to get up and go on an adventure. I loved the characters and my personal favorite moment was how kind Bree is. Young children will love Bree and Banna. This wonderfully worded book about family and friendship brings back childhood memories. Read this book to your children at bed time and you will enjoy it just as much as them. A new kind of classic is being created. What is next in line for baboons Banna and Bree? Where will the winds take them? Hopefully on more adventures like this creative and inspiring story, Banna and Bree Blown to Rwanda.
