Bark Until Heard: Among the Silenced Dogs, I Found My Voice by Becky Monroe is a beautiful and heartwarming story that describes how experiencing an animal's unconditional love is one of the most amazing gifts one can receive. This touching and inspiring story is about a woman who had the courage to visit auctions and discover how animals are treated in these horrible places. Her purpose in life then changes and she becomes the voice of these silent animals. As the author takes readers along with her on her passionate journey of fighting for justice for these animals, it educates readers on many aspects of animal cruelty and treating animals properly.
The book is touching and readers feel the pain as the author narrates the cruelty meted out to these animals. The book is also very informative. The feelings and emotions the author experience as a rescuer are tangible to readers and strike a chord inside them. The book gives hope and reassurance to everyone on how one person can make a difference, and it's a book for all dog lovers out there. Each dog has a painful story of its own. The book educates readers to speak up and change the laws for those dogs left behind, and how important it is to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
