Barking Madness by Ryan Hill is a young adult paranormal story about seventeen-year-old Rosetta Harper. When her family relocates to a small New England town, Rosetta thinks her life will be normal. But she didn't account for the repeating nightmares she has of a masked man. The nightmares become more and more gruesome until they start to come true. Rose didn't expect it at the party she attended, nor did she expect Michael to be the knight in shining armor that rode to her rescue to deliver her from death by the jaws of a hungry black wolf. Rose worries that she was bitten by a werewolf and shares this fear with Michael. The two forge an unlikely friendship around the supernatural and wonder just how far they each will go to protect themselves and their secrets...from each other.

This is a very dark, creepy book that fans of paranormal stories will enjoy. The writing was done well, the plot kept moving at a good pace, and there were interesting story lines that kept the story moving forward in the right direction. The author did a nice job with the descriptions and readers will feel invested in the characters and their naturally flowing dialogue. This was so much more than just a paranormal story and will appeal to readers who love romance, action, thrillers, mystery, and danger. Throw in some teen angst and this story is a winner! Nice job.
