Blood Vows by Lena Moore is a novel that fuses romance and action. It will appeal to people that enjoy tough love. Sparrow, an accomplished fighter, walks into his home to find a trail of blood. The blood trail leads him to his bedroom where he finds his fiancée Beth’s body mutilated beyond recognition. For a couple of years, he lives with the pain of losing her; he’s unable to move on. One day, he’s called up by his detective friend Bran, who tells him he’s found some information leading to Beth’s murderers. Sparrow sets out to avenge the death of his beloved Beth, but he’ll experience the worst betrayal. The fighter will realize that the human mind has hidden compartments, and no one ever truly knows the next person.
Blood Vows by Lena Moore is a brilliant book that validates the phrase, “We find love in the strangest places.” I learned from this book that the heart wants what it wants, and there’s nothing that anyone can do about it. Again, love is not always enough as I saw the duplicity of humans. We never truly know anyone because those we trust the most are often our hangmen. I love the humor, bants, action, and suspense infused in this book. I laughed so hard, holding unto the edge of my seat, and expecting the next move. The plot was enthralling and writing this book must have been fun for Moore. All of Sparrow’s friends deserve to have their stand-alone books, so I welcome a Blood Vows series.
