BreadCrumb Trail (The Yellow Hoods #2) by Adam Dreece is a young adult fantasy that incorporates fairy tales into the mix. Steam engines arrive for the first time in a world where fairy tales are actual world events. A secret society, the Fare, decides to move in, too. Meanwhile, three members of the Yellow Hoods - Tee, Elly and Richy - are entangled in a secret society and the mysterious return of the Ginger Lady. When a number of kids get lost in the woods, the Yellow Hoods help search for them. What they don't know is that Maxwell Watt, a friend of the amazing inventor Nikolas Klaus, asks his son to smuggle and deliver something very important to his friend and fellow inventor, Nikolas. This item has such importance that there are many people who don't want the item delivered and will do anything to stop it.
BreadCrumb Trail is a fun young adult story that uses humor as well as action to create an incredible adventure tale. There are many characters in this story and they all have their own little arcing story. I enjoyed the Yellow Hoods and had fun following them on their adventures. Their humor was a nice addition to the story and I looked forward to reading about their escapades. I also enjoyed the most mysterious aspects of this story, especially the item that Maxwell's son was transporting. The dangerous elements of this part of the story were very well written.
