Brother to Brother by Kevan L Waiters is a stirring memoir that shares the story of the Waiters family. There is a particular focus on the bond between brothers Kevan, the author, and Donald Frank (“D. Frank”) Waiters. Raised in a large, hardworking, faith-centered family in South Carolina, the brothers learn values of sacrifice, perseverance, and service from their parents. Their paths diverge into separate career paths as adults. D. Frank builds a ministry while struggling with kidney disease and declining health. Kevan embarks on a career in the military and law enforcement. When doctors determine that D. Frank needs a kidney transplant to survive, Kevan immediately volunteers to help. Testing reveals that Kevan is not only a perfect donor match but also possesses a rare third kidney, which becomes part of what the family views as a series of miracles. As medical setbacks delay the surgery, the family turns repeatedly to prayer and spiritual encouragement.

The main theme of Brother to Brother: The Miracle of Family by Kevan L Waiters is simply faith. It is the filter through which the Waiters family approaches all their challenges and successes. Strong examples of faith and God’s presence in their lives are vividly illustrated throughout the memoir. The brothers’ parents instill strong Christian values in their children. They are the guiding lights for their family. This is more than a memoir! It is a celebration of faith and family loyalty. It is the story of life-saving brotherly love. Last, it is a powerful testimony to what unwavering belief, even in the most difficult of times, can achieve. Brother to Brother earns my highest praise and strongest recommendation. You will be blessed by reading this book.
