Death and destruction are dished out to the syndicate that decided to eliminate their top assassin in the entertaining novel, Bunny Slippers, by Matt Peterson. MARI is an international organization of hired killers, and Bunny has worked for them for decades. When Bunny chooses to expand his career and establish a security software company, MARI decides it is time to retire him, putting a multi-million dollar price on Bunny’s head. Thousands of assassins from all over the world are now hot on his trail. Unfortunately for everyone in pursuit, Bunny hasn’t been MARI’s most successful killer for nothing. With little to lose, Bunny is determined to destroy MARI and permanently decommission his pursuers. Now the hunter, Bunny, is exterminating his enemies in the most outrageous ways. Can his luck continue to hold?
Bunny Slippers by Matt Peterson is a quirky novel with adult-themed twists and well-defined characters. The plot is constructed with a creative storyline and fantastic situations. The story’s timing moves at a perfect pace, smoothly flowing from one scene to the next. Each scene is spiced with action, humor, and a twist of violence. I appreciated the sometimes crazy and comedic situations in which the characters find themselves amidst the violence. The assassin’s odd sense of honor and compassion was both heartwarming and funny, adding to the overall humor. The combination of gore, intimate scenes with aggressive tendencies, and a killer with a serialistic disposition creates a disturbingly captivating book. People who love anti-heroes who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty while skirting around moral codes will enjoy this book.
