Cansu Ozer, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a pediatric speech-language pathologist specializing in early childhood communication development from birth through age 5. Much of her clinical work has centered in early intervention, where she works closely with young children and their families to support speech and language development through everyday routines and play.
Her experiences supporting little ones as they imitate their first playful sounds, say new words, and find new ways to express themselves inspired her first children’s book, Bunny’s Big Day of Sounds. Cansu created the book as a resource families could enjoy together while naturally encouraging early speech, language, and imitation skills.
Cansu’s books and educational resources are shaped by a child-led, play-based, and neurodiversity-affirming perspective that honors each child’s individual communication style and values communication in all its forms. She hopes to create resources that feel practical and approachable for families while keeping learning playful, meaningful, and connected.

Bunny’s Big Day of Sounds by Cansu Ozer is a fun and educational book for young children. The illustrations and playful color palette created by Febriyana Fadillah work perfectly as the book encourages early speech and verbal imitation skills in toddlers and children with speech delays. Bunny witnesses or participates in daily activities like brushing teeth, eating breakfast, or hearing a car drive by. Each page includes the sounds or words heard with each activity. Little learners can relate to the daily routine and will be interested in the colorful images of Bunny and a dog friend.
Bunny’s Big Day of Sounds is a little treasure. In my opinion, Cansu Ozer has penned a fresh, new classic. There are a couple of reasons I loved this book. First of all, I appreciate that while little ones will find the cute pictures amusing, there’s a lot of subliminal learning going on, led by the adorable Bunny! This is not an ordinary baby storybook. The author has impressive educational credentials. Therefore, I feel confident that when one is reading the book to children, they are actually learning. Lastly, the legendary Pat the Bunny sensory book by Dorothy Kunhardt has been read to children in my family for generations. That book is cherished for its tactile interest. But I’ve not seen a book that focuses on audibility and speech by reading not just words, but also sounds. Make room on the shelf for Bunny’s Big Day of Sounds: A Playful Story for Early Speech Development!
