Call Down the Moon (Soulmate Book 1) by Mary Gillgannon is a love story that transcends time and space and also death. Connar falls in love with Aisling who is one of the Nine Sisters, a group that is known for their healing powers. Aisling dies and the story is about how Aisling is reborn as Allison Hunter and is a freelance writer in Denver. Though Allison does not remember her past life, she finds herself connecting with Connar when she meets him for the first time. Will Connar and Allison finally be able to get together?

The author takes readers through Allison's struggle to come to terms with her past and then her present, and see the connecting link. The story unfolds in Ireland in the ninth century and then moves to Denver in 2012, and keeps shifting from past to present at certain places. The plot is original with a blend of reality and mysticism. It is a heartwarming love story that readers will find compelling and engaging. The characters of Connar and Allison are well portrayed and readers feel the intensity and depth of their love. I found the topics of past life and reincarnation in the story fascinating and it gives a different dimension and layer to the love story, adding more meaning to the deep love shared between Connar and Allison. Readers who enjoy romantic fiction will find this book exciting and interesting because of the unique plot.
